If you work around bikes for long enough you tend to amass an interesting collection of random parts. Eventually enough of those parts all coalesce into a complete bike build just for the heck of it. Evan’s “Sidewinder” is exactly one of those builts. Enough parts were kicking around in his personal collection that they all found their way onto this old Sidewinder Frame.

While there aren’t a lot of parts to this build it does get deeper the closer you look. The left-side drive probably stands out first. Or maybe it’s those Odyssey “Triple Bear Trap” pedals and 3-piece BMX cranks.

Maybe the first thing you noticed was the kooky clamp-on rear cantilever system? The bike industry has some dark spots in its past… Luckily we can all appreciate good Profile hubs, and moto-style handlebars!

This build doesn’t crack any performance codes, but it sure does help you crack a smile when you ride it. It’s random, and fun, and rides great when you’re tearing down an unimproved alleyway, or just cruising to the bodega. Build a bike that makes you happy! Why would you do it any other way?

Are those lugs fillet brazed??? Or just chicken cutlet??? Gotta love the color. I have Schwinn head badge, which you really need to display proudly. Loud and Proud, Loud & Proud.
