Tonight marks the 25th Anniversary of the Bicycle Transportation Alliance. Many of us know, and hold dear, their longstanding dedication towards making our region a safer and healthier place for cyclists. Their hard work has brought so many of us together over common goals and inspired future generations. Tonight’s sold-out event will be honoring the last 25 years of the BTA’s service, and celebrating this year’s most notable voices in the cycling community with the Alice Awards.
In addition to tonight’s celebrations there will be both live and silent auctions benefiting the BTA’s cycling programs. We are honored to help by building up this custom stepthrough bicycle handmade by local framebuilder Christopher Igleheart.
Igleheart got his start in the 80’s working with Fat City Cycles in Sommerville, MA building some of the most iconic and collectable mountain bikes of the era. He began manufacturing frames under his own name in 1990 and relocated to Portland in 2012.
We carefully selected parts to compliment Igleheart’s fine craftsmanship and built this frame into a really enjoyable ride. Its key features are Reynolds 853 tubing, Thomson seatpost, Chris King headset, leather VO saddle, 26″ wheels, Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes, a SRAM 1×10 spd drivetrain with a 38t Wolftooth chainring and BBG guide.
Go forth and bid wisely! Show the BTA how much you appreciate all of their exemplary hard work, and if you know someone 5’3″-5’9″ you can show your appreciation for them by winning this bike in tonight’s auction!
