YOU’RE INVITED!
Please join Sellwood Cycle Repair & Team S&M CX on Sunday February 4th for a special, once-per-year event. No, it’s not the Super Bowl – that’s later in the day and you can probably figure out how to watch that on your own…
We’ll be gathering at 1PM to watch our VERY OWN Clara Honsinger represent the USA, racing the 2018 U23 Women’s Cyclocross World Championships in the Netherlands! We’ll screen her race at 1:30pm. Afterward, we’ll screen the Elite Women’s and Men’s events, as crowd interest warrants.
Chris King Precision Components has graciously agreed to host us at their beautiful headquarters in NW Portland, plus their staff chef is preparing chili for us. And of course there will be BEER.
Gathering to watch this race marks the end of a momentous first season for Team S&M CX. We are proud to have completed this season by sending both riders abroad on European campaigns. In addition to racing Worlds, Clara will have also raced the final Telenet World Cup event in Hoogerheide on this trip. Teammate Beth Ann Orton raced the penultimate World Cup event in Nommay FRA and ends her CX season with one final race in Rucphen, NED.
As you might expect, sending athletes to race in Europe is a big undertaking. If you’re moved to contribute to our cause, there will be several donations jars at the event, and team managers Brenna and Erik will be on hand!
