Its hard not to notice the paint on this bike, a garish three color fade, but beneath the paint lies a lugged frame built by one of the finest builders in the US.  Tom Kellogg began building frames in the mid 70s, starting to build under the Spectrum Cycles name in 1982.  Kellogg and Spectrum Cycles are still active today building high level custom frames from a variety of materials.

We get a lot of consignment bikes, but not everyday do we get a hand-built bike of such pedigree in the shop.  The frame uses Ishiwata cromoly tubing, measuring in as a 49cm with a 55cm top tube, utilizing both fillet brazing and lugged construction.  The bike is set up with a Shimano Dura-Ace 7400 2 x 6-spd group, with a few Shimano 600 pieces thrown in for good measure.  Come check it out if you’re curious!
