We have a special “Bikes We Ride” post this week. One that’s so special we’re best to let Brenna talk about it in her own words:
The thing I love most about bike riding and working with bikes and their people is that riding a bike means something different to every single rider. Yet a sense of independence, a better connection with your surroundings, and the fun factor experienced when pedaling a bike all tend to be strong for everyone.
For me, riding bikes has been about exploring and expanding my worldview and perceived limitations through joy and smart work, and yes—it’s also about been about going fast, because for me, fast is very fun.
From spending my whole adult career in, on, and around bikes (professionally racing, building, selling, and fixing them), I’ve learned that it’s the rider that makes the bike fly, and perseverance matters far more than the level of the equipment. That said, there’s no denying that top level bike equipment is inspiring to work with and ride, and I don’t take for granted that I get to pursue dreams while riding this gear.
My 2022 @dnak4 team issue @cannondaleroad Super Six Evo is an incredible, purpose-built rocketship and it inspires me to keep working hard as an athlete. My riding life inspires me to keep finding ways to feed more empowerment, thoughtfulness, and joy back into the world.
Big thanks my team here at Sellwood Cycle Repair and my team at DNA Pro Cycling for supporting my careers and for their commitment to women in sport.
