If you don’t already share our love of Mountain Biking, then 2019 is the year for you! With a multitude of trails within a short drive of Portland, and a great community surrounding each of them, there’s really no reason not to get thee to the mountains, and we’ve got the bike to make it all happen.

For those pondering their first foray on a mountain bike might we suggest the Northwest Trail Alliance as a great place to connect with community. The NWTA is an awesome advocacy group, and downright friendly bunch of folks. We’ve worked with them in the past, and pedaled along with many times. They offer many ways to get involved, events to participate in, and have an extensive knowledge of all the local trails to ride.

2018 Kona Hei Hei AL

2018 Kona Hei Hei AL – $2200 (was $2600!)

Kona has long offered a strong lineup of Cross Country mountain bikes, with the Hei Hei being chief among them. From entry-level to race bike there’s a Hei Hei for you, and if you ask Erik Tonkin he’ll tell you they’ll even double as a CX race bike in a pinch. 😉

2018 Kona Blast

2018 Kona Blast – $700 (was $900!)

Looking so save some coin on that first mountain bike purchase? We hear you! Full suspension bikes come with a whole lot more maintenance and up-front costs, and while rear suspension can be nice, it’s definitely not necessary for a good time on the trails. Enter the Kona Blast, and it’s solid counterparts the Fire Mountain and the Kahuna (we’ve got one for just $850!) A fair number of our staff has a hard-tail in their quiver because of their simplicity and quick transfer of pedal input to the ground.

2019 Giant Trance AdV Pro 29 1

2019 Giant Trance Adv Pro 29 1 – $5250

Some folks know exactly what kind of bike they want, and know what that bike needs to do for them. For those folks the Giant Trance Adv Pro 29 1 is nothing short of awesome. Light, fast, and oh-so-smooth this bike can lead the way to a transformative time on any trail you fancy. But you knew that already, didn’t you?

Many of our staff has found the joy of the Kona Process lineup, especially those who like a bike that smashes the downhills but can still climb back to the top. We’re lucky enough to be graced with a selection of new and consignment Process 153s of several builds to suit your style and budget. We cannot help with cramped muscles in your face from all the smiling you’ll be doing when you ride one however (that’s what beer is for)!

2019 kona wo fatbike

2019 Kona Wo – $1600

Yes, Virginia, Fat Bikes DO exist! When all the suspension you might ever want is all contained in the tires, we’d be remiss to not mention the Kona Wo. These mythical beasts from the north are ready for snowpocalypse, a trip to the dunes of the Oregon Coast, or a ride just because you wanna, the Kona Wo has got plenty of cushion in its wide footprint. From trails, to snowpack, to CX races, it can, and HAS, been done on a Fat Bike!
